For Veterans their Families, Relatives and Neighbors

Failure of the Veterans Administration to follow the Science in over sixty peer-reviewed scientific publications that prove that PTSD is associated with Oral Health ( Stomato-gnathic System) maladies.

Given the fact that PTSD and TBI are the signature wounds of the wars of the last two decades and that over a million Veterans are affected by these disorders

Where is there evidence that:

A) a single VA dental researcher has ever investigated PTSD and TBI associated Oral Health problems . There are over 3,600 VA Researchers

B) the VA has funded a single intramural or extramural research endeavor in the area of PTSD and TBI associated Oral Health System maladies

C) a single American Dental Association Board Certified Specialist in Oral Medicine or Oro-facial Pain has ever  been engaged in providing disability examinations for  Veterans with PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injuries.

D) the VA Dental system has consulted the ADA Specialists listed in (C) in establishing the dental -oral system disability eligibility rating requirements for Veterans with PTSD or TBI

J) the VA has funded a single  PTSD and Oral Health research publication in over sixty years in the area of PTSD, TBI and associated Oral Health maladies

K)  the VA Dental System has made any attempt to legally define Oral Health Care from Whole Health Care which is misinforming Veterans who view its Dentistry website which states “Oral Care is a part of Whole Health Care”

L) there is a single VA Dental Researcher who is able to mentor a Dentist who is interested in engaging in research in the area or PTSD -TBI and Oral Health

M) there is a single VA physician or Dentist with dual training in medicine and dentistry( DDS-MD ) who has ever been engaged in research to determine the boundaries of Oral Health and Whole health or in a plan to integrate Oral Health care with Total Health Care in Veterans with PTSD or TBI

N) there has been any research by the VA Dental Division which has investigated the reason why the Oral System has been excluded from the other somatic systems which are affected by PTSD and TBI (e.g. Cardiovascular, endocrine, immune etc)

0) why the VA Dental System has failed to use any of the sixty published papers to serve as an indication that their research funding is lacking in the area of PTSD and Oral Health

P)  the VA Quality Improvement Scholar Fellowship Program has failed to include a single Dentist in its program in over 25 years (300 graduates )

Q)   the VHA Director Of Dental Research has made any effort in twenty years to serve as a mentor for a single Oral Health research project in the area of PTSD and Oral Health
