Our treatment office is situated on a serene, tree-lined street in Columbus, Georgia. The building hosts a few small offices, with ours designed specifically for PTSD care.
Privacy Ensured
The office lacks any signage hinting at its purpose. Appointments are individually scheduled, ensuring you are the only patient at that time.
Guest Accommodation
You can bring along a friend for support. Additionally, support animals, referred to as “Fur Buds”, are always welcome.
Calming Environment
Our space is intentionally designed to be low-stress: no bright lights, sudden noises, or music. Seating is strategically placed against the wall, allowing patients an unobstructed view of the entrance.
Initial Procedures
Upon arrival, the receptionist will provide standard medical history forms for completion.
Exam Room Introduction
Within ten minutes, you’ll be guided to a dental room, notably absent of typical dental equipment.
Dental Procedure
A brief procedure will take place to obtain an alginate replica of your jaw – mostly the lower and occasionally the upper. It’s quick and lasts less than a minute.
Muscle Examination
Dr. Moeller will then assess the tenderness of your chewing, neck, back, and head muscles using a gloved hand. For your comfort, a female attendant will always be present, and no clothing removal is required.
Physical Assessment
Given PTSD’s broader impacts, we’ll evaluate your walk, balance, stance, and grip strength, as you feel comfortable.
Oral Device Fitting
A custom oral device will be crafted in about 30 minutes. Once ready, it will be adjusted in your mouth for optimal comfort. We’ll then assess post-insertion activities (similar to the earlier tests) and provide detailed instructions on using the device, with ample time for questions.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide each and every veteran with the same level of clinical success as Dr. Moeller obtained when he constructed his own intraoral neuroprosthesis for his nightmares, sleep disruptions, and headaches.
